We have been working away for quite some time to get our branding and products in tip-top shape. Which is why we are so excited to introduce our latest creation: campfire candles! We combined our love of candles with our love of these super cute camper mugs. These candles come from our desire to create items that will add a lovely touch to your home while also making great gifts for others. Speaking of, it’s officially the holiday season and these would make terrific gifts for those stylish ladies in your life! Anywho, this does NOT mean that we’re moving away from hand-lettering. We also have versions of these candles coming soon that feature hand-lettering on the mugs. So keep an eye out for that in the coming weeks!
Let’s talk a little more about our soy candles. Why do we use soy? Soy wax was created in the early 1990’s as a new alternative to parrafin wax which many people are opposed to because of it’s association to petroleum as a by-product. If you want more information on that, google it. I’m not an expert…yet. 🙂 The benefits of soy wax is that it is a natural product that is made of 100% soybean oil. And since we are all about natural products here at Alpine, this was an obvious choice for our candles.
The containers we’ve chosen to hold our precious soy candles are these super cute teal-blue enamel camp mugs. The hubs and I are really into backpacking so for us, enamel camp mugs are necessities for those mountain mornings in the woods. The color is one of my favorites ever and it adds such a feminine touch to the rustic texture of the mugs, making it the perfect addition to your home!
To coincide with the rustic look and feel of the enamel camp mugs, we decided to pair it with wooden wicks. Cotton wicks are dangerous if not trimmed properly plus we love the “crackle” sound of the wooden wicks. Plus, have you ever noticed the difference in the flame’s shape with wooden wicks? If not, you need to! Instead of the flame flickering as you’d imagine- the flame on wooden wicks are horizontal and flat which gives it an awesome look and feel! Wooden wicks also don’t “mushroom” like cotton wicks tend to do.
As of right this moment, we have nine different scents to choose from with more coming in the next few months. We will eventually have aromatherapy candles using essential oils (!!!!). Exciting, right? But for now, we’re sticking with your classics including: Lavender, Classic Vanilla, Coconut, Cozy Cotton, Romantic Getaway and Coffee Bean. As well as seasonal favorites: Island Dream, Pumpkin Spice, and Christmas Joy.
We will be taking Christmas orders until December 11th so head over to the shop to get yours today!
